How to Use This Tool
- Select a County: Choose from the dropdown to filter municipalities by county.
- Choose Municipalities: Check the boxes next to towns you want to compare. Use the search box to quickly find specific municipalities.
- Switch Views: Toggle between Historical Trends (line chart), Current Comparison (bar chart), and Rate Changes (percentage change) to analyze data in different ways.
- Analyze Statistics: View key metrics including average rates, highest/lowest rates, and overall trends for your selection.
- Interactive Legend: Click on legend items to show/hide specific data series in the chart.
About the Data
This tool displays property tax rates (per $1,000 of assessed value) for all New Hampshire municipalities from 2018 to 2024. The New Hampshire state average is always shown for context. Tax rates can vary significantly between municipalities due to differences in property values, municipal services, school funding, and other local factors.
