How Are Mill Rates Calculated in CT?
To calculate the property mill tax of property, multiply the total assessed value of the property by the municipality's mill rate for that year, then divide that number by 1,000.
For instance, a property with an assessed value of $300,000 located in an area with an yearly rate of 28.7 mills would have a property tax bill of $8,610.
